ESN NTUA Athens έγραψε:ESN NTUA Athens, is a student organisation of the NTUA. We are all students of the NTUA , trying to help all the incoming Erasmus students, providing them with:

Information on their studies in the NTUA.
Information about the benefits of studying at the NTUA
Fun Activities.
Parties, Trips and more.
Help in communicating with the University
Solutions to every-day life problems
We cooperate closely with the university authorities, as we have their full support.
Each semester we organise a variety of activities, as well as an “Orientation Day”, aiming to get all the Erasmus students acquainted with their hosting University more easily.

Most members of ESN NTUA Athens, have already been Erasmus students and their experience abroad has made them more aware of the needs of all incoming students. Furthermore, we all work on a voluntary basis, motivated by the principle of “Students helping Students”. We believe that international exchange brings people together and helps create a better understanding of the world.

AEGEE Athina έγραψε:AEGEE ("Association des États Généraux des Étudiants de l'Europe") is the largest student associations in Europe. It takes its name from the Aegean Sea, one of the birthplaces of democracy (thus, the word "AEGEE" is pronounced "EZEE" !), and from the first parliament at the dawn of the French Revolution,"Les États Généraux".

AEGEE is a voluntary, politically independent and non-profit organisation open to students of all faculties. It basically promotes a unified Europe and a cross-border co-operation and communication among students, striving to create an open and tolerant society of tomorrow.

AEGEE was founded in Paris in 1985. In 1992, its headquarters moved to Brussels. Nowadays, it is represented in 270 university cities, in 40 countries all around Europe and numbers about 17.000 members.

What makes AEGEE trully European is the lack of national level. The Association solely relies on its local groups (antennae) in university cities all over Europe. Their activities are coordinated by the European Board (Comité Directeur).

AEGEE activities support European integration, not only in theory but also in practice. This is done through projects and actions such as Summer Universities, the most popular and successful AEGEE project, held each year by a large number of AEGEE locals. Thus AEGEE members share their knowledge on their language and culture with fellow students.

AEGEE organises conferences on any kind of topic with the participation of students and professionals. Case Study Trips (CST) are also arranged in different regions in Europe, giving students the opportunity to discuss with politicians and specialists about the characteristics and the problems of the visited region.

What is more, AEGEE organises large-scale projects, which reflect its main fields of action: Cultural Exchange, Active Citizenship, Higher Education, Peace and Stability.

In order to contribute and give support in the area of Higher Education, East-West Relations, Culture, International Politics and Public Relations the working groups are created.

AEGEE enjoys support from the European Commission and has consultative status at the Council of Europe and United Nations. Ét is also a member of the European Youth Forum and has operational status at UNESCO on international projects.

Most of all, AEGEE gathers around its main goals incredibly motivated people, who work for what they believe, getting in return personal satisfaction and hope that they have slightly influenced the things they have touched. In short, the European minded students find in AEGEE an almost perfect environment to learn and act as a European.
